Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Ground Test Engineer to lead the planning and execution of ground test events at Edwards AFB, CA. You will collaborate with REs and STEs to develop procedures, operate test articles, and troubleshoot issues during ground tests.

The role requires coordinating test operations as an approved test conductor, preparing worksheets, leading briefs, and guiding engineers and technicians through events, including launch and recovery operations with pilots.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years technical/military experience, or Associate of Science with 4 years related technical/military experience, or HS/GED with 6 years combined technical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to interact with employees and management at all levels.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance or higher; ability to obtain Program Access (PAR).
• Willingness to work overtime, odd-hour shifts, and occasional weekends to support test schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ground test procedures and support active flight line testing.
• Conduct preflight and postflight power-on checks.
• Provide first-line engineering support for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications to systems under test.
• Supervise maintenance personnel for systems under test.
• Analyze and interpret test data; provide recommendations to engineering and leadership.
• Coordinate with support organizations for developmental test program planning and execution.
