Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal/Senior Principal Flight Test Engineer to join our Test and Evaluation organization at Edwards AFB. The role focuses on developing and publishing detailed test plans for environmental control systems, operating in flight test control rooms, and supporting integration testing.

The position requires hands-on flight test experience, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to collaborate with design and test teams to define data

Qualifications

• Principal: B.S. in STEM and 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR M.S. and 3 years.
• Active US Government Secret clearance (within past 6 years or Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within a reasonable time as determined by business needs.
• Flight Test Experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and publish EMS-related test plans, acceptance plans, schedules, and procedures for developmental testing.
• Operate in a flight test control room.
• Provide lab and ground support for integration testing.
• Support and host test planning working groups.
• Interface with design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements.
• Review and evaluate test requirements for completeness of the program.
• Perform system-level analysis and prepare comprehensive evaluations.
• Support test card development and review with engineering disciplines and test operations personnel.
• Support test readiness reviews and pre/post-test briefings.
• Conduct pre/post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution.
• Maintain metrics on testing status and constraints.
• Serve as focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and test site teams.
