Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Test Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Ground Test Engineering team at Edwards AFB, CA. The role involves 2nd shift, 9x80 schedule, and travel up to 10% domestically.

You will manage a team across shifts and work within a Combined Test Force environment to conduct ground testing on multiple flight test aircraft. The candidate will blend functional management and program execution, with 20% time on people leadership and 80% on program delivery, including coordination

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years engineering experience with a BS degree, 7 years with MS, or 5 years with PhD in STEM.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact with all levels of staff.
• Willingness to work overtime, odd-hour shifts, and weekends to support test schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide people and discipline leadership to a team of 10-15 ground test engineers.
• Lead all aspects of personnel management including workforce planning and succession planning.
• Provide technical oversight and programmatic leadership to GTE team during flight test campaigns.
• Coordinate daily and long-term tasking of ground test engineers.
• Communicate test risks, issues, and opportunities to stakeholders.
