Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Logistics Documentation Specialist to coordinate, design and improve the documentation flow for inbound and outbound shipments. You will handle bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics operations, experience with SAP or ERP systems, excellent Excel data skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while training others as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking shipments and reporting.
• Strong data accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime with little or no notice.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to train others and coordinate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and improve documentation for one-off shipments, including international and domestic.
• Coordinate required documentation with customers, freight carriers, and couriers.
• Maintain accurate records for future shipments and regulatory compliance.
• Define and prioritize documentation needs based on shipment urgency.
• Ensure roles and responsibilities support accurate regulatory and tariff documentation.
• Assist FP&A Manager to ensure payment accuracy post shipment.
• Adhere to safety policies across regions and entities.
• Train ATI and contract personnel to ensure process continuity.
