Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) Lead Electrical Engineer to guide high- complexity GIS projects and mentor design teams. You will develop technical specifications, GA drawings, grounding and conduit plans, and oversee the full life cycle of gas insulated substation engineering.
A hybrid schedule applies, with relocation assistance available. The role requires a ABET-accredited BSEE and 10+ years in GIS/AIS substation design, plus proficiency with standard design tools
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited BSEE degree is required.
- Ten or more years in physical layout and design of GIS and AIS substations.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D models.
- Ability to relate equipment to technical designs and manage multiple projects within budget/timeline.
Responsibilities
- Lead GIS engineering design efforts for gas insulated substations and select AIS projects.
- Prepare specifications, reports, and drawings (GA, equipment plans, grounding/conduit plans, control panel layouts).
- Mentor junior and senior engineers and coordinate detailed design phases.
