Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Mount Pleasant, PA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Substation Design to lead GIS substation projects from concept through installation, combining in-person collaboration with a flexible hybrid work model.

You will translate customer requirements into innovative engineering solutions, develop substation layouts and technical drawings, and coordinate with customers, suppliers and international teams while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in substation engineering, HV equipment, or heavy industrial projects.
Experience with GIS and high-voltage projects is valued.

Responsibilities

Lead GIS substation projects from initial design through installation and commissioning.
Translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions.
Develop substation layouts, drawings and technical documentation.
Facilitate technical discussions and project meetings with customers and stakeholders.
Coordinate material procurement, fabrication activities, and installation planning.
Drive design optimization to improve quality, efficiency and cost.
Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.
Ensure compliance with ISO, environmental, quality and safety standards.
