Job summary

As a senior team member, you will mentor junior staff, oversee designs with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and ensure compliance with ASTM/IBC standards while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• PE license or reciprocity to operate in the firm's region.
• 5–12 years geotechnical engineering and/or materials testing experience with 3+ years in supervision.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements.
• Knowledge of geosynthetics.
• Apply civil/geotechnical engineering principles to design, analysis and problem-solving.
• Prepare engineering reports, specs, drawings and documentation.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, Tablogs.
• Site investigations, field inspections and data collection.
• Regulatory compliance with ASTM, IBC, and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide junior engineers, designers, and field staff.
• Delegate tasks and oversee project team outputs for accuracy.
• Foster a collaborative environment promoting growth and knowledge sharing.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance and sampling.
• Serve as a primary client contact and maintain professional relationships.
• Communicate project updates and technical findings clearly to clients.
• Identify opportunities for repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Implement quality control procedures for project deliverables.
• Review engineering designs, calculations, reports and drawings.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules and resource allocation.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate across departments and coordinate with owners, contractors and vendors.
• Assist in proposals, scopes of work, and contract documentation.
• Contribute to business development through client engagement and market awareness.
• Monitor budgets, expenses and performance metrics for projects.
