Job summary

CoStar Group, Inc. in Richmond, VA seeks a Team Lead, Software Engineering to guide a full-stack team responsible for a portfolio of financial web applications used by internal sales, finance and customer service. The role emphasizes architecture, delivery and reliability in a SOX‑facing environment.

You will stay hands-on, mentor engineers and drive best practices across testing, CI/CD and security while coordinating with partner teams. Hybrid in-office in Richmond with Friday work‑from‑home.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
• 5+ years building web apps and 3+ years in large distributed, API-driven systems.
• Hands-on React with server-side Node.js and C#/.NET.
• Advanced SQL Server and T-SQL; strong data quality controls.
• Experience owning team delivery, planning, and stakeholder communication.
• Production systems ownership including on-call and incident response.
• Experience with cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP) and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a full-stack engineering team with hiring and coaching.
• Own end-to-end delivery, scope, technical direction and quality.
• Coordinate with product, finance, sales and customer service stakeholders.
• Own architecture across full stack: frontend + backend-for-frontend + APIs + data layer.
• Contribute hands-on to design and implementation; review code and designs.
• Translate regulatory requirements into scoped engineering work.
• Production support, monitoring, incident response and reliability.
• Maintain high engineering standards across testing, CI/CD, observability and security.
