Job summary

CoStar Group in Arlington, VA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to architect and deliver a greenfield, AI-powered enterprise web application. You will lead design, implementation, and delivery of scalable systems using React, Node.js, and cloud services, with onsite work Monday–Thursday and potential remote Fridays.

You’ll mentor engineers, promote AI-first engineering practices, and partner with product teams to shape the CRE platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production development experience in modern technologies (React, Vue, TS, NodeJS, C#, .NET).
• Proven track record of building and launching successful products and platforms.
• Experience designing for high availability, horizontal scalability, and observability.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Cloud Managed Services).

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, distributed systems with defined service boundaries and API standards.
• Build responsive web apps using React, Node.js, Tailwind, etc.
• Work with cloud-native services (Azure/AWS/GCP), containers, and microservices.
• Optimize for performance, observability, and developer productivity.
• Leverage AI tooling and automation (CI/CD, code/test generation).
• Influence and establish AI-first engineering practice and debugging workflows.
• Establish AI culture and mentorship within the team.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen CoStar’s platform and practices.
• Develop and maintain domain knowledge of CRE industry and CoStar’s business model.
