Job summary

Praxis Precision Medicines is seeking a Principal Scientist, Formulation Development to lead drug product development from early discovery through late-stage clinical development. You will translate promising compounds into robust formulations and scalable manufacturing processes, partnering with Discovery, CMC, Regulatory, and external partners.

The role combines hands-on science leadership with strategic development oversight, directing work at CDMOs and driving programs forward with urgency

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, chemical or biochemical engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership in formulation development and manufacturing process development.
• Strong communication and collaboration across functions and with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation strategy across programs and communicate strategy, risks, and recommendations.
• Design, oversee, and interpret formulation studies for novel drug candidates and translate learnings into decisions.
• Develop phase-appropriate formulations and manufacturing processes using formulation and manufacturing principles.
• Provide timely, high-quality formulation support for preclinical studies and clinical development.
• Drive technical execution with CDMOs and ensure external activities meet quality and timing needs.
• Author and contribute to technical and regulatory documents, including INDs/NDAs.
