Job summary

Yona Solutions is seeking a Food Services Director to oversee the dietary department in a long-term care facility. You will lead a team, ensure meals meet regulatory standards, and manage budgets while delivering high-quality dining experiences for residents and staff.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in food service, a degree related to hospitality or food service management, and strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising food service in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires and orients dietary staff
• Trains workers in procedures and equipment operation/maintenance
• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises department functions
• Supervises and evaluates staff performance
• Forecasts and plans purchases of supplies and equipment
• Plans staffing schedules to ensure adequate services
• Maintains required records (inventory, compliance, income/expense, personnel)
• Conducts regular management staff meetings and coordinates with other departments
• Manages cost-effective programs and budgets
• Maintains survey-ready operations within regulatory standards
• Fosters positive relations with residents, visitors, and departments
• Participates in facility meetings and committees
• Promotes professional growth of the dietary team
• Conducts quality assurance rounds and reports initiatives and accomplishments
