Job summary

Yona Solutions is seeking a Food Services Director to lead the dietary department in a long-term care facility. The role focuses on planning, directing and supervising dining services to enhance resident meals while meeting regulations.

You will manage staffing, training, budgeting and quality assurance, while maintaining strong resident and department relations and participating in facility committees.

Qualifications

• Associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality from an accredited institution.
• Two years of food service supervisory experience; LTC preferred.
• ServSafe Manager certification (National Restaurant Association).
• Certified Dietary Manager / CFPP (ANFP).
• Strong leadership and staff supervision abilities.
• Excellent customer service and quality mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet goals.
• Public speaking skills.
• Proficient with Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires and orients dietary staff.
• Trains workers in procedures and equipment operation.
• Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises department functions.
• Supervises and evaluates staff performance.
• Forecasts and plans purchases of supplies and equipment.
• Plans staffing schedules to ensure adequate services.
• Maintains records including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel.
• Conducts management meetings and coordinates with other departments.
• Manages cost-effective budgeting for the program.
• Ensures survey-ready operations within regulations.
• Maintains good relations with residents, visitors, and departments.
• Participates in facility meetings and committees.
• Follows company policies and promotes growth.
• Performs QA rounds and inspections for quality controls.
• Reports on monthly initiatives, goals and accomplishments.
• Promotes resident satisfaction.
