Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a Lead Mechanic to maintain and repair a variety of mobile equipment, both in shop and on public roadways. You will maximize equipment availability through proactive maintenance, liaising with Terminal Operations to set maintenance priorities.

You will diagnose problems on trucks and trailers, order parts, and train new hires while adhering to OSHA rules and safety standards. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Own tools up to 1 1/4.
• Bilingual is a plus; read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical problems and perform mechanical repairs on trailers, Moffetts, tires, brakes, and suspension.
• Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electronics, and other components of trucks and trailers.
• Create work orders and purchase requisitions for repairs and services.
• Input daily repair reports into software-based tracking program.
• Coordinate Pre-Trip inspections and communicate preventative policies.
