Qualifications

• Observe, test, analyze, and isolate trouble sources in automotive systems using appropriate test equipment.
• Identify issues in electrical/electronic and mechanical subsystems from codes and data.
• Replace parts, adjust, and rebuild electrical and mechanical systems as needed.
• Record information and complete forms such as repair estimates and work orders.
• Work safely with colleagues and independently plan tasks with minimal supervision.
• Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and perform engine/system checks.
• Perform computerized and electronic diagnostic tests with scanners and analyzers.
• Conduct road tests before and after maintenance and document results.
• Troubleshoot issues from road calls and replace faulty parts.
• Inspect vehicles, annotate estimated repair times, and schedule work.
• Train others on repairs and on using diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance records including hours and parts.
