Job summary
United States Postal Service in Virginia is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician to supervise a vehicle maintenance team and perform the most complex repairs on postal fleet vehicles. You will guide lower-level technicians and ensure high standards of workmanship in a facility near Sterling, VA.
Hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with weekends off. The role requires diagnosing problems, running computerized tests, documenting repairs, and training staff while maintaining safety and environmental
Qualifications
- Experience diagnosing automotive electrical/electronic systems.
- Ability to interpret trouble codes and use service manuals.
- Proven skill in leading technicians and coordinating repairs.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and perform checks on engines and major systems.
- Perform computerized and electronic diagnostic tests; interpret trouble codes and data.
- Conduct road tests before and after maintenance; annotate problems on work orders.
- Provide technical guidance to mechanics on difficult repairs and equipment.
- Maintain maintenance records and assist in training personnel.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all tasks.
