Job summary

United States Postal Service in Virginia is hiring a Lead Automotive Technician to supervise a team of technicians and perform the most complex repairs on postal fleet vehicles. You will guide lower level staff and ensure quality, safety, and compliance in maintenance tasks at the Sterling/Dulles area facility.

The role requires diagnosing diverse automotive systems, using electronic diagnostic equipment, and maintaining detailed repair records.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing automotive systems and drivability problems.
• Ability to interpret trouble codes and use service manuals.
• Willingness to complete Postal Service tests and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and perform engine/system checks.
• Perform computerized diagnostics and interpret data from scanners and analyzers.
• Conduct road tests before/after maintenance and annotate work orders.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance records and provide training guidance.
