Job summary

Job Juncture is assisting in recruiting a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead the Atlanta FP team on data center projects. The role requires managing design from schematic to construction, coordinating with architects and other disciplines, and training junior designers in a hybrid office-based environment.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in fire protection design, NFPA expertise, and proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD. PE license preferred; relocation not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fire protection, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• 10+ years of fire suppression and alarm design experience at a consulting firm.
• Experience leading projects and supervising designers.
• NFPA 13, 20, 72, and 75 knowledge.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and hydraulic calculation software.
• PE license preferred.
• Data center or mission-critical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Atlanta fire protection team, assign and schedule project work, and train designers.
• Manage fire protection design on data center projects from schematic through construction.
• Design water-based suppression, clean agent, and smoke control systems.
• Design fire alarm and emergency comms systems, including early warning smoke detection.
• Prepare fire protection drawings and specs in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Run hydraulic calculations and review team output before issue.
• Evaluate existing fire protection and alarm systems on renovations.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and other MEP disciplines.
• Provide construction administration including site visits and submittal reviews.
