Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support our rapidly growing Data Center practice across multiple projects in the United States. You will design fire protection systems, perform code analyses, and coordinate with clients, architects, and AHJs to meet reliability and safety standards.

We require a PE license, a 5+ year track record in fire protection engineering, and a degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience designing fire suppression systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects
• Provide fire protection system design, code analysis, and life safety engineering
• Establish project fire protection design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients/AHJs
• Support large-scale campus master planning and hyperscale data center developments
• Assist project managers with scope, staffing, budgets, schedules, and risk management
• Support proposal development and business development in the Data Center market
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and codes affecting mission-critical facilities
