Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Fire Protection Engineer to support its rapidly growing Data Center practice. You will design fire protection systems, perform code analyses, and ensure reliability for mission-critical facilities.

The role collaborates with clients, architects, engineers, and AHJs to meet stringent standards and project goals. The position requires a Bachelor’s in Fire Protection Engineering (or related field) with 5+ years of experience, strong communication, and a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities

Responsibilities

• Serve as Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.
• Provide fire protection design, code analysis, and life-safety engineering.
• Develop design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards.
• Lead design reviews and QA/QC across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with clients, AHJs, and project teams to resolve issues.
• Develop suppression concepts including water-based systems, pumps, storage, pre-action, and clean agent systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for site water distribution and sprinkler systems.
