Job summary

Vercel is seeking an Engineer to lead the design and development of a Finance Data Platform that powers revenue reporting, billing, and forecasting. You will work with FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps to translate requirements into scalable, auditable pipelines using Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake.

You will mentor engineers, define data governance and lineage, and drive architecture decisions to support SOX/SOC 2 compliance and board-level reporting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a closely related field with end-to-end pipelines.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructures using Kafka and ecosystem components.
• Experience building data pipelines feeding financial reporting, billing, or ERP integrations is a plus.
• Strong ability to translate financial requirements into technical architecture and collaborate with Finance/RevOps.

Responsibilities

• Design a data platform that supports revenue recognition and billing using Kafka and streaming tech.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps to translate requirements into architecture and ensure data accuracy for reporting deadlines.
• Define guidelines for financial data ingestion, transformation, and storage with auditability and lineage; oversee ETL and warehousing.
• Develop end-to-end finance data stack and mentor engineers on best practices in high-accountability data environments.
• Partner with Security, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit to meet SOX/SOC 2 and auditability requirements.
• Drive roadmap decisions balancing efficiency, scalability, and correctness for financial systems.
