Job summary

Compucom Systems, Inc. is seeking a Field Tech II to provide advanced on-site leadership for infrastructure and cabling projects in retail and corporate settings. The role involves hands-on installation, troubleshooting complex network issues, and supporting field technicians.

Travel by service vehicle is required to cover outages and training opportunities. The position emphasizes installing fiber, data racks, patch panels, and RJ21x/66-blocks, with a focus on maintaining high quality

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with infrastructure/structured cabling projects.
Strong understanding of WAN/LAN concepts and routing.
Willingness to travel to client sites by service vehicle and occasionally by air.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate and label various cabling types (CAT3, Cat5, Cat6, fiber) in retail and corporate environments.
Install infrastructure equipment (data racks, patch panels, cable trays, conduits).
Lead infrastructure/structured cabling projects as a senior field tech.
Troubleshoot WAN/LAN issues and test/test results for verification.
Support and train field technicians; provide on-site leadership.
Travel to cover outages and project work as needed; sometimes out of town.
Complete jobs within timeframes with high quality and customer service.
