Job summary

Westside Medical Supply, a leading DME and home accessibility company in New York, is seeking an experienced Lead Home Modification Technician. You will supervise residential accessibility projects, install accessibility equipment, and mentor junior technicians to ensure safe, high-quality work.

You’ll handle site assessments, plan installations, read technical instructions, and coordinate with customers, caregivers, and team members.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with tools and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience in mechanical repair, carpentry, construction, remodeling, maintenance, or electrical work.
• Plan and complete installations, read technical instructions, and work safely and independently.
• Organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality workmanship.
• Communicates clearly, treats customers with compassion, and works well with a team.
• Has a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Has a high school diploma or equivalent and is willing to learn new products and skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential accessibility projects and installs.
• Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair patient lifts, stairlifts, and other equipment.
• Assess project needs, estimate parts, materials, and labor.
• Complete safe, high-quality work following manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Document estimates, measurements, photos, repairs, and recommendations for the coordination team.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with customers, caregivers, and coworkers.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and work areas; assist with warehouse and facility needs as assigned.
• Collaborate with other technicians, share knowledge, and participate in cross-training.
