Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is looking for a Lead Field Technician to install building automation systems in Ashburn, Virginia. The technician will manage installers and interact with clients, ensuring project progress and quality standards are met.

This role involves significant responsibilities from installation, commissioning, to reporting and communication. Candidates should have a relevant degree and experience in HVAC and controls systems, along with strong technical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience with installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure.
• Two years of hands-on experience in similar roles.
• Ability to interpret AE construction drawings and BAS shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install building automation systems.
• Support and direct installers and programmers.
• Execute troubleshooting of BAS systems.
• Support project leadership on automation projects.

Skills

Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems and materials

Knowledge of controls wiring, relay logic

MS Office Suite proficiency

Ability to work in a remote environment

Ability to communicate effectively

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related discipline
