Job summary

Parametrix is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field survey activities across the Puget Sound region. You will coordinate boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveys while mentoring crew members and ensuring safe operations onsite.

You will operate robotic total stations, GNSS equipment, and data collectors, review plans, and process data for CAD and office review. Travel and excellent attention to QA/QC are required.

Qualifications

• Progressive land surveying experience with field leadership.
• Ability to interpret plans, maps, and legal descriptions.
• Experience with boundary, topographic, construction staking, control, and as-built surveys.
• Proficiency with robotic total stations, GNSS, and data collection devices.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead daily field survey activities including boundary, topographic, construction staking, control and as-built surveys.
• Direct and support survey crew members while promoting safe, efficient field operations.
• Operate and maintain robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, digital levels, and data collectors.
• Review project requirements and survey instructions to prepare for field assignments.
• Perform field calculations and verify data accuracy before leaving sites.
• Maintain organized field notes, sketches, and equipment documentation.
