Job summary

Topographic, Inc. seeks a Party Chief to plan, organize, and direct a survey crew in land surveying to determine precise points, elevations, lines, and areas for final deliverables.

You will manage field assignments, ensure safety, supervise data collection, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with project managers while maintaining quality and accuracy. This hands-on role requires knowledge of state plane coordinates, Trimble tools, and strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Experience leading survey crews.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret field notes and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize crew manpower and resources for survey tasks.
• Direct daily field assignments and equipment usage.
• Ensure field activities comply with company and industry standards.
• Enforce safety procedures and PPE usage.
• Maintain daily data collection and prepare data logs and expense reports.
• Mentor Rod Person/Instrument Tech on daily tasks.
• Coordinate with Field Supervisor/Project Manager.
• Transport equipment to job sites as needed.
