Job summary

Parametrix in the Puget Sound region is seeking a Survey Party Chief to independently lead field survey activities and convert field data into high-quality deliverables for public infrastructure and land development projects. You will travel to project sites, supervise crews, and coordinate with Professional Land Surveyors, engineers and clients.

Qualifications

• Progressive land surveying experience with independent field leadership.
• Ability to interpret plans, maps and survey instructions.
• Willingness to travel across Puget Sound region and occasional overnight trips.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead daily field survey activities including boundary and topographic surveys.
• Direct and support survey crew members while promoting safe field operations.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment such as robotic total stations and GNSS receivers.
• Review project requirements and prepare for field assignments.
• Perform field calculations and verify data accuracy before leaving site.
• Maintain organized field notes, sketches and equipment records.
• Coordinate crew needs, site access and schedules.
• Communicate with project partners including Professional Land Surveyors and engineers.
• Identify and resolve routine technical issues and QA/QC data per standards.
• Mentor less-experienced staff to meet project commitments.
