Job summary

Qualifications

• 4+ years of field surveying experience.
• Active PLS license (VA) or equivalent.
• Experience operating robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment.
• Ability to interpret plans, plats, and engineering drawings in the field.
• Strong leadership and field crew supervision capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in field survey crews.
• Conduct boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/ACSM land title, as-built, and environmental surveys.
• Operate survey equipment including robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS receivers.
• Research field data discrepancies and boundary conflicts on-site.
• Perform on-site field calculations and data verification.
• Ensure safety protocols and traffic control measures are followed.
• Maintain field vehicles and equipment for daily deployment.
• Record detailed field notes and digital data on-site.
• Communicate progress with Survey Manager and complete tasks on schedule.
• Train junior field staff in survey techniques and equipment safety.
• Identify and resolve field-specific issues independently.
