PRIME AE Group in Lexington, KY is seeking Survey Tech I to support land surveying, topographic mapping, boundary surveys, and construction layout as part of a small field crew.

You will gain hands-on experience with GPS, total stations, and data collectors while assisting the crew leader with data collection and field safety.

This role emphasizes teamwork, ability to work outdoors, and preparation for a developing surveying career within a nationally recognized firm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 2+ years of surveying experience or comparable education preferred.
• Basic understanding of surveying principles and field operations preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and survey plans.
• Ability to perform basic calculations using a calculator or handheld data collector.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer use.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry 50-70 pounds of equipment to and from job sites.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions including heat, humidity, and cold temperatures.
• Willingness to travel or work out of town for project assignments when needed.
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week depending on project demands.]

Responsabilités

• Assist survey crews in performing field measurements for topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction layout.
• Participate in daily briefings regarding project requirements, safety procedures, and progress updates.
• Assist the crew leader in collecting and managing field data.
• Monitor field activities and communicate observations or issues to the crew leader.
• Learn the operation of surveying equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
