Job summary

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation is seeking a dedicated Survey Crew Chief to lead and execute field surveying tasks in Chipley, FL. You will direct crews, operate survey instruments, and ensure accurate data collection for roadway, bridge, and flood control projects.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of survey experience, strong leadership skills, and familiarity with total stations, GPS, and data collectors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years survey experience as Rodman or Instrument Person.
• Must obtain site badges/certifications to enter sites (e.g., MOT, Duke Energy, CSX, DOD).

Responsibilities

• Direct and participate in field surveying activities and lead crews.
• Set up, adjust and operate surveying equipment (total station, GPS, data collector).
• Prepare field notes and drawings for roadway, bridges, and flood control projects.
• Record daily progress and report to the Project Manager.
• Ensure safety and proper use of equipment and PPE.
• May perform light office duties as needed.
