Job summary

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation in Pensacola, FL seeks a Survey Crew Chief to direct field crews, oversee equipment, and ensure accurate surveying for roadway and infrastructure projects.

You will manage 2–4 person teams, prepare field notes and drawings, and coordinate with the Project Manager to maintain schedules and safety standards. A strong background in total stations, GPS, and data collection is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ survey experience as Rodman or Instrument Person.
• Ability to obtain necessary site badges/certifications.
• Proven field surveying experience on roads, bridges, or flood control projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2–4 person field teams for maximum production.
• Set up and operate surveying instruments, take measurements and field notes.
• Complete surveys across multiple project phases (FDOT, Mortgage Survey, Construction Layout).
• Report daily progress to the Project Manager and ensure safety and accuracy.
