Job summary

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation in Panama City, FL is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to direct field teams and supervise equipment operations, coordinating with the Project Manager to ensure accuracy across FDOT, mortgage surveys, and construction layouts.

You will set up and operate total stations, GPS, and data collectors, prepare field notes and drawings, and maintain safety standards while mentoring crew members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of survey experience in Rodman/Instrument Person roles.
• Must obtain necessary site badges and certifications to enter work sites.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily and weekly updates on all projects assigned.
• Manage 2–4 person field crews for maximum production.
• Complete surveys across FDOT, Mortgage Survey, and Construction Layout.
• Set up, adjust, and operate survey equipment including total station and GPS.
• Prepare field notes and drawings; perform field surveying for roadways and bridges.
• Mentor crew members and report progress to Project Manager.
