Southeastern Surveying and Mapping Corp. is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveying operations in Dothan, AL.

You will direct crews, set up and operate total stations, GPS equipment, and data collection tools, and ensure accurate field notes for roadway, bridges, and construction projects. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on surveying skills, and the ability to train crew members while coordinating with the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of survey experience as Rodman or Instrument Person.
• Must obtain badges/certifications to enter sites (e.g., MOT, DOD, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Direct and participate in field surveying activities for multiple projects.
• Lead 2–4 person field crews to maximize production.
• Set up and operate surveying instruments; record field data and prepare notes.
• Maintain and transport survey equipment; ensure safety and quality of measurements.
• Report progress to Project Manager and coordinate with clients.
• Train crew members in surveying techniques and procedures.
