Job summary

Southeastern Surveying and Mapping Corp. is seeking a Survey Crew Chief in Pensacola, FL. You will lead field surveying teams, set up and operate surveying instruments, and ensure accurate data collection for roadway and civil projects.

Responsibilities include guiding the crew, preparing field notes, reporting progress to the Project Manager, and maintaining safety standards across various sites. Travel to remote locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of surveying experience as Rodman, Instrument Person, or equivalent.
• Must obtain site badges/certifications (e.g., MOT, DOD, CSX, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead field surveying activities and manage crews of 2–4 personnel.
• Set up and operate surveying instruments; collect field data.
• Prepare field notes and drawings for roadway, bridges, and other projects.
• Report daily progress to Project Manager and ensure safety compliance.
• Travel to remote field locations; mentor crew members and train on techniques.
