Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) is seeking a Survey Party Chief in Tacoma, WA. The role involves performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients, and managing field data and office calculations.

Responsibilities include operating Trimble and Leica equipment, reducing survey data, and coordinating a survey crew while ensuring deliverables meet quality standards. DEA values collaboration and client-focused results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5 years of field survey experience.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment.
• Clean driving record required (no more than 3 accidents and/or moving violations in the last 36 months or 2 incidents in the last 12 months).
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment including Trimble total stations, Trimble GPS, and Leica levels.
• Collect and process field data; perform survey computations using Trimble Business Center and Leica.
• Maintain detailed field notes, data files, and computation sheets.
• Inspect and verify accuracy of deliverables before submission.
• Coordinate, lead, and mentor survey crew personnel.
