NAES Renewables is a fast-growing company in renewable energy operations and maintenance, with over 30 years of experience in asset performance and portfolio management.

As a Field Services Technician, you will maintain and repair solar and battery energy systems primarily within the Bakersfield, CA region. This role involves travel, working independently, and being proactive and organized. Reimbursement is provided for a personal vehicle suitable for work use.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to dispatch tickets for solar and battery equipment, perform repairs, and learn system operation with training support.
  • Test, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair inverters, monitoring systems, and other components of solar PV and energy storage facilities.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting; use and maintain testing tools and devices.
  • Document all work digitally, including detailed notes, descriptions, and photos.
  • Complete paperwork such as time sheets, service orders, inventory, and warranty shipments.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and manage vehicle inventory.
Safety and Physical Requirements:
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, with physical activities like climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces.
  • Work includes weekdays, weekends, and possibly on-call rotations.
  • Participation in the Fitness for Duty Program, including physical exams and drug screenings.

  • Safety-conscious, dependable, flexible, and able to follow instructions.
  • Effective communicator with strong documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record; DOT license or ability to obtain one preferred.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
  • Electrical knowledge, power systems, LOTO, data & communication systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, smart devices, system switching.
  • Certifications such as scissor lift, forklift, NABCEP, or similar solar certifications.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff, mechanically inclined, familiar with hand and power tools.
Compensation:

Hourly rate ranges from $43.70 to $50.60, based on experience.
