What you can expect as a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star:

As a Lead, your main focus will be leading a team of technicians to produce timely, high-quality, and accurate results. The most successful individuals will be highly analytical, inquisitive, and possess a critical mind. This role requires imagination, strong problem-solving skills, and a strong technical orientation. Getting the job done right is as important as getting the job done on time. Your primary functions will include effectively utilizing manpower and directing project flow.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including:

• Leading the team to complete necessary jobs/tasks, using good judgment in handling day-to-day tasks and knowing when to involve your manager.
• Implementing a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Seeking opportunities to reduce aircraft turnaround time within your area of responsibility.
• Training and mentoring technicians assigned to your projects.
• Supervising team members in daily workload.
• Working independently on projects and leading multiple projects as assigned, ensuring schedule and quality standards are met, demonstrating drive and initiative.
• Performing general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems, including removal and installation of panels and components, repairs, and sheet metal work.
• Troubleshooting and evaluating aircraft systems when designated.
• Inspecting and evaluating aircraft and components when designated.
• Participating in aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing when required.
• Maintaining shop facilities, equipment, and tooling.
• Collaborating with customers on project management, pricing, and support roles.
• Willing to travel 25% of the time (foreign and domestic).
• Communicating effectively in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Performing any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

What You’ll Need To Bring With You

Your Education

High school diploma or equivalent and an Airframe and Powerplant License are required. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport are ideal but not mandatory. Aircraft-specific factory training is preferred.

Your Experience

At least 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including supervision of four or more team members. Advanced knowledge of FAA paperwork, work orders, and use of Corridor systems.

Your Initiative

Self-motivated team player capable of performing in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and time constraints.

Your Sense of Responsibility

• Attend work as scheduled, including overtime and weekends.
• Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work.
• Reliable transportation to work daily.
• Perform all work according to FAA guidelines.
• Follow all safety and company rules.
• Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
• Manage multiple projects and supervise team members in daily operations.
• Complete work orders and FAA paperwork.
