How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Unit Load Device (ULD) Lead Technician is responsible foron-site supervision and repair of over 22,000 ULDs and 60,000 galley equipment itemswithin Delta’s span of control and system. The lead provides maintenancesupport and regulatory compliance and partners with equipment vendors formodifications and improvements, ensuring a safe and efficient operation.

The Lead will be safety focusedand execute these critical duties and skills:

  • EnsureFAA compliance and adhere to Component Maintenance manuals relative toULD/Galley Equipment repair.

  • Ensurethe proper use of technical data during the repair process.

  • Conductquality control throughout repair processes and perform internal auditswhile responding to and implementing corrective actions from externalaudits.

  • Supervisescrap and disposition of equipment and components that are consideredBeyond Economic Repair (BER).

  • Engagein maintenance tasks and inspecting repairs to ensure equipment isreturned to service, in addition to overseeing and coordinating the repairworkforce.

  • Monitortool calibration schedules and follow established shelf-life managementprocedures to ensure accuracy and quality standards.

  • Coordinate,schedule and repair of Galley Equipment and Unit Load Devices

  • Complete Delta’sTechOps welding certification and engage in the repair of pallets andcontainers.

  • Overseethe repair workforce at assigned station and provide temporary support atother repair facilities as needed, which may require travel.

  • Leadand pursue accomplishment of department and station performance goals.

This position is full-time with a starting pay of $61.02 per hour.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self,others, and personal data.

  • Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high schoolequivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to workin the United States.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must be proficient in English.

  • Must have an FAA Airframe (A) License.

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and familiaritywith the ULD industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effectivebusiness partnerships with outside vendors, contractors, and business partners.

  • Ability to self-manage effectively, both operationallyand strategically.

  • Be willing to work a fixed and/or rotating scheduleincluding afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry testsstructured to determine ability to perform required tasks.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred orequivalent work experience

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P)preferred

  • Understanding of FAR 121 and 145repair certifications as it pertains to ULD repair

  • Prior leadership preferred, such asstrong supervisory, mentoring, and coaching skills
