Job summary

Pengate Handling Systems is seeking a Lead Service Technician to join our field service team. You will lead a team of technicians, perform complex repairs on forklifts and conveyors, and coordinate field service activities with customers across assigned territories.

You will mentor technicians, ensure safety protocols, and continually improve service quality. A company vehicle is provided and overtime/on-call may be required to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training is a plus.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Advanced troubleshooting with material handling equipment, conveyors, and components.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools, and mobile service apps.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift/move up to 150 lbs with assistance.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on-call as needed to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of technicians performing service and repairs on forklifts and conveyor systems at customer locations.
• Monitor team performance, ensure productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals are met.
• Conduct and coordinate service work including troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, inspections, and mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Promote a safety-first culture by adhering to all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
• Analyze daily operational needs and assign resources accordingly to meet customer expectations.
• Partner with Field Service Managers to implement best practices and continuous improvements.
• Facilitate team meetings and training opportunities for both technical and leadership development.
• Serve as the communication link between technicians, customers, and internal departments.
