Job summary

Ziegler Caterpillar is seeking a Service Support Specialist to provide leadership and support for the field service team. This role focuses on organizing, scheduling, coordinating, purchasing, communicating, and leading efforts to deliver timely, cost-effective project management that meets customer expectations.

The position requires handling multiple projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget constraints, and maintaining safety standards on and off-site. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School degree required; 2-year technical college degree preferred.
• Experience with diesel and gas powered engines required.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude including ATS, Switchgear, engine control required.
• Project Management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suites.
• Personal Attributes: Customer Focus, Attention to Detail, Leadership Orientation, Conflict Management, Sociability.

Responsibilities

• Creates quotes for repairs related to power generation equipment and related electrical systems and industrial equipment for internal and external customers.
• Enter parts, labor, and miscellaneous items needed on quotes.
• Coordinate procedures and documentation with contractors, engineers, customers, owners, utility company, sales staff and service technicians and provide status updates throughout projects.
• Coordinate field service projects, managing outside resources to bring projects in on time and within budget.
• Adhere to and help enforce safety policies both on- and off-site.
• Occasionally assist with meetings with customers, contractors, engineers, owners, and Ziegler staff to discuss project requirements and logistics where site visits are required.
• Respond promptly to phone calls or email requests.
• Work in a cooperative manner with team and leadership.
