Job summary

Walmart is seeking a skilled HVAC/R technician to install and service commercial refrigeration systems, controls, and ductwork across assigned facilities. You will diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues while following safety and EPA guidelines.

The role includes preventive maintenance, mentoring apprentices, coordinating with managers and customers, and supporting on-call service in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction for commercial HVAC/R.
• 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction for HVAC/R and building controls.
• EPA 608 refrigerant handling certification (Type I/II or Universal).

Responsibilities

• Install and service HVAC and refrigeration systems including controls and ductwork.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections across facilities.
• Lead field teams and mentor apprentices on procedures and safety.
• Coordinate with customers and manage service calls within region.
• Operate company vehicle and participate in on-call rotations.
