Job description

About the Position:

Serves as a Lead Facility Operations Specialist for the New Orleans District. Provides Operations Managers, Branch Chiefs, technical support personnel, and field personnel with technical and administrative guidance on developing maintenance management strategies to support all business lines associated with operations and maintenance of navigation structures, flood risk management structures, a physical plant, and navigation channels.

Specialized Experience Requirement:

One year of specialized experience which includes at least two of the following: 1) leading, scheduling, or distributing work for a team executing facility operations or maintenance projects; OR 2) managing data within a computerized maintenance database to plan maintenance or audit data quality; OR 3) formulating or justifying operations and maintenance budgets, such as drafting cost-benefit analyses for facility upgrades.

Time in Grade Requirement:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-12 you must have 52 weeks at the GS-11 level. With regards to time-in-grade validation, if you held a position other than a GS pay plan, be sure your resume includes the pay plan and the salary you earned during the assignment. Without this information, your time-in-grade validation may not be able to be verified and will result in your not meeting the time-grade requirement for this vacancy.
