Residential Opportunities seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Kalamazoo, MI to oversee hands-on maintenance, safety compliance, and preventative care at our residential facilities.

You will repair electrical/plumbing systems, manage work orders, and lead Maintenance I staff while coordinating with external contractors when needed. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and 5+ years of maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on maintenance or construction experience.
• Skills & Abilities: Strong general maintenance background, including basic electrical and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hands-on maintenance, preventative care, and safety compliance for assigned residential facilities.
• Tackle general repairs, basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, appliances, cabinetry, and light construction.
• Manage, track, and complete incoming work orders based on urgency, safety, and facility needs.
• Identify maintenance needs early to avoid disruptions; keep logs of inspections and repairs.
• Guide and support Maintenance I staff, assist with scheduling, and advise when to bring in external contractors.
• Maintain properties in line with safety codes and licensing standards (e.g., Adult Foster Care regulations).
