Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Kalamazoo. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across our locations, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC and painting, helping ensure safe, compliant facilities.

Responsibilities include inspections, project support, contractor coordination, after-hours response, and maintaining positive vendor relationships; must have 4+ years experience and a valid MI driver's

Qualifications

• 4+ years of demonstrated building maintenance/construction experience
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Independent transportation to and from work
• Basic computer skills for emails, documentation uploads and reports
• Physical ability to perform maintenance duties (stoop, bend, stand, push, pull, lift)
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with good driving record; insurable on company vehicles

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance (carpentry, drywall, electrical, flooring, generators, HVAC, lighting, painting)
• Conduct and document regular facility inspections
• Perform maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds and related equipment
• Manage construction and refurbishment projects at various sites
• Ensure health and safety standards and codes are followed
• Provide prompt response to requests from occupants and internal customers
• Provide after-hours support to retail locations in emergencies
• Develop and maintain good contractor and vendor relationships
