Job summary

Serene Gardens of Imlay City in Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our assisted living community. This role maintains the building and property, troubleshoots issues, conducts repairs, and coordinates with outside contractors to keep facilities up to code.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years of maintenance experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English.
• General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots issues to determine repairs.
• Evaluates systems to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
• Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
• Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Oversees outside contractors and signs off on work as needed.
• Plans repair work using repair request forms, building information, repair schedules, etc.
• Performs general repairs such as drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs.
• Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
• Perform job responsibilities in accordance with company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
