Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to perform general maintenance work with latitude for applying knowledge and skills at our facility in Pearsall, Texas.

This role requires hands-on abilities across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks and entails supervising detainee maintenance staff. You will maintain records, ensure tools and materials are ready, and support the security and upkeep of the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 5 years in general maintenance, construction or related area.
• Ability to interpret electrical prints, diagrams, schematics and perform arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Survey assigned jobs and ensure proper materials and tools are on hand to complete work.
• Direct work and provide technical assistance; supervise detainee maintenance staff inspections.
• Perform preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance.
• Operate equipment and machinery related to assigned area.
• May perform carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical tasks as needed.
• Maintain records of repairs and support security of detainees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
