Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and landscaping under the direction of the Facility Director.

You will ensure safety, security, and operational efficiency of the site, maintain logs and inventories, respond to maintenance requests promptly, and communicate effectively with residents and staff to foster a professional, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years general maintenance and/or related construction trade.
• Knowledge of equipment necessary for making proper repairs.
• Able to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Effectively communicate with residents and staff; react quickly in emergencies.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping) as directed by the Facility Director to keep the facility operational.
• Maintain security and control of all tools to ensure safety and security of staff and facility.
• Follow maintenance safety procedures and ensure compliance to prevent accidents.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to keep the facility safe.
• Maintain maintenance logs, tool inventories, MSDS, chemical inventories, etc. as required.
• Convey resident communications to supervisors to take preventive actions and maintain health and safety.
• Run errands to procure supplies to keep the facility running smoothly.
• Communicate with residents and staff professionally to uphold dignity and positive relations.
• Participate in staff meetings by sharing observations to improve operations.
