GEO provides comprehensive maintenance and repair services for secure facilities, seeking a capable officer to perform general maintenance with moderate latitude for applying knowledge and skill.

The role involves supervising detainee maintenance staff, ensuring tools and materials are ready, and performing diverse tasks from carpentry to electrical work while maintaining safety and records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum of five (5) years full-time, wage earning experience in general maintenance, construction or related area.
• Ability to interpret electrical prints, diagrams, schematics and perform arithmetic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Surveys assigned jobs and ensures materials and tools are ready.
• Directs work and provides technical assistance to detainee maintenance staff.
• Performs preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Operates equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
• May perform carpentry, plumbing, heating and air conditioning work.
• May perform electrical work and related repairs.
• May perform minor construction such as building storage bins and workbenches.
• Maintains records of repairs and contributes to security of detainees.
