Job summary

Hyatt Vacation Ownership is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee property operations, manage repair work orders, and ensure maintenance programs run smoothly. The role emphasizes fair policy administration, safety, and exceptional guest service.

The position requires HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing training with either a high school diploma or a 2-year degree and corresponding experience. It is a salaried exempt role with a salary range and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 4 years’ related engineering/maintenance experience with HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing training.
• Or a 2-year degree in Building/Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related major with 2 years’ related experience and HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing training.

Responsibilities

• Supports management of Property Operations.
• Supervises distribution of repair work orders.
• Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
• Assists in planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
• Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates.
• Monitors timeliness and quality of repair work orders.
• Supervises Engineering and related areas in absence of the Director of Engineering.
• Assists in managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, life safety systems.
• Ensures ongoing communication with associates about business objectives and expectations.
• Recommends/arranges additional services like painting, repairs, renovations, furnishings replacement.
• Selects and orders new equipment, supplies, furnishings.
• Oversees day-to-day operations of Engineering and related departments; maintains property standards.
• Inspects facilities to determine work required; maintains logs/records.
• Operates generators and fire pumps; provides emergency response 24/7.
• Repairs equipment such as refrigeration and laundry as needed.
• Ensures associates have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
• Encourages guest satisfaction and continuous improvement.
• Participates in interviewing and hiring; trains new associates and provides follow-up training.
• Communicates performance expectations per job descriptions.
• Conducts departmental orientation for new hires.
• Ensures policy compliance and disciplinary documentation.
• Ensures cross-training to support daily operations.
• Fosters open, collaborative relationships with associates.

Education
