Job summary

Standard Aero is hiring a Lead Licensed Mechanic in Springfield, IL to perform routine maintenance and major inspections on corporate aircraft. You will troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft components and engines, coordinating with technicians and other departments to ensure safety and quality.

You will guide A&P mechanics, conduct on-the-job training, and assume responsibilities during Crew Chief absences. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant license required.
• Minimum 5 years as an A&P Mechanic in corporate aviation.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities; soldering, testing, and inspections.
• Excellent communication and leadership to guide technicians on road trips.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and major inspections on corporate aircraft.
• Coordinate and delegate assignments to technicians.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to A&P mechanics.
• Review and sign off on work orders and release aircraft per procedure.
• Travel on road trips and work unsupervised as required.
