Job summary

StandardAero in Augusta, GA is seeking a Lead Licensed Mechanic, APU to join our Business Aviation MRO team. You will lead a crew dedicated to Honeywell APU maintenance, mentor technicians, and ensure safe, high-quality work.

As Crew Chief in the absence of the supervisor, you will pre-plan work, manage parts orders, review work orders, and serve as a technical expert on APUs, performing hands-on maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience performing heavy maintenance on Auxiliary Power Units.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Licensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic.
• Experience overhauling the Honeywell 36-150 APU.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a crew to ensure high performance and safety.
• Monitor hours charged to jobs for cost control and approve technicians’ time.
• Appraise crew members and recommend salary/status changes; manage discipline when necessary.
• Pre-plan work scope and action plans for incoming jobs, including parts ordering.
• Deploy resources and assign tasks efficiently.
• Use hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, and engine calibration test equipment.
• Maintain all job orders paperwork and conduct final QA review of work orders.
• Monitor progressive sign-offs to ensure tasks are completed satisfactorily.
• Serve as a technical expert on Auxiliary Power Units and perform hands-on maintenance.
